Peak Oil Watch

“Peak Oil” is the highest point on the oil production curve. After we reach “Peak Oil” (and we may have already reached it) it is a downward slope of oil production until we completely run out of oil. The world needs an alternative supply of energy, very soon, or we will face a downward spiral of economic troubles caused by an increasingly lower supply of oil until we reach worldwide economic collapse.

On 7 August 2008 the West Brisbane Greens hosted the Northern Link Tunnel Forum.The Northern Link Tunnel is a proposal for a tunnel to take traffic (in particular trucks) from the Warrego highway, through the Kenmore Bypass and Centary Highway to link with the Inner City Bypass / Kelvin Grove Road. The tunnel will divide Toowong and the stacks are to be placed in the Brisbane Botanical Gardens and the Grammar sports fields. Speakers included Mark Beilby (Save the Inner West), Councillor Kim Flesser - Northgate (ALP) and the 2007 Greens mayoral candidate Jo Bragg.
